Defect visualisation This section includes all departures from rectangularity of the joint pattern in relation to the planes and abutting lines of ceramic tiling to other construction elements, carpentry, equipment, facilities, and fixed furniture. These deviations materialise in the convergence of tile-to-tile joints to skirtings or in changes of plane, corrections in alignment or plumb, and other optical effects that break the pattern made with square or rectangular tiles.
In addition, layout defects also include the small presence of narrow strips in an orthogonal tile installation with aligned joint and in an interlocking bond layout, or of small triangles in a diagonal layout.
